In My Mailbox #8

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

I tried really hard to put myself on a book buying ban for a while. I know, it makes for a boring blog, with no chance of IMM posting from me. But with all the unread books on my shelf at the moment, it just wasn't realistic buying anything new. Well, I lasted 2 weeks. I guess that's better than nothing.

I have a hard time resisting bargains, especially when there is an awesome bargain bookstore in the City that is conveniently placed on my way to visiting Kerrie at her work. I can't help myself, I have to go inside and look around. Sometimes I'm able to walk out without buying anything, but this weekend wasn't one of those days.

My bargain find is 'Hex Hall' by Rachel Hawkins. I've been in a bit of a witch-y mood lately, so I'm really looking forward to getting into this one soon. Hopefully it won't take too long to get to it.

And that's my mailbox for this week.

  1. Wait... are we talking Basement Books at Central station? I bought a copy of Hex Hall from there a couple of months ago! Can't wait to read! And I love the bit of colour that one of those girls has in her hair. You can't see it on screen--but I think the blonde in the middle? Pink, maybe? <3 it!

    1. Yes, Sarah! Basement Books! I'm not able to walk past it without going in and I rarely leave without buying something (I'm a little scared, because I'll be going into the City a bit more in the next few weeks so it looks like I'll be visiting Basement Books a lot). I bought the last 2 copies of Hex Hall, one for me and one for Kerrie. Wow, I didn't notice before, but you're right, blondie in the middle does have a pink streak in her hair.

  2. I have to get to the city and visit this store, I don't think I've ever been!

I've heard a lot about Hex Hall but I've never read any of the series

    1. It's an insanely awesome store! And you really struggle leaving without buying anything. I'm worried because I'm heading into the city again on Saturday and I'll be surprised if I come home without another new book.
